Alicia Gonzales, 78, of Hereford, Texas, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2023, in Hereford, Texas. Funeral services will be on Friday, September 29, 2023, at 10:30 AM at the Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Michael Luna and Pastor Israel Olivio officiating. Burial to follow at West Park Cemetery. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas. Viewing will be on Thursday, September 28, 2023, from 1:30 PM – 8:00 PM and family and friend visitation to be from 5:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Alicia was born on February 22, 1945, in El Porvenir de Bachiniva, Chihuahua, Mexico, to Rafael and Rosa (Chavez) Mendoza. Alicia has been a resident of Hereford, Texas, since 1970. She married the love of her life Francisco Gonzales on December 10, 1970. Alicia's last place of employment was at Food King, where she had been employed for 15 years, making her wonderful, famous tortillas. She loved cooking, especially tamales, empanadas, and her bunuelos, traveling to Mexico to see her family, taking care of her chickens, and tending to her many plants, because she had a "green thumb." Alicia was a member of the TDR Church in Hereford, Texas. One of Alicia's greatest loves was spending time with her family and grandchildren and serving her Lord and Savior. She will be missed by those who loved her.

Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Rose Veliz and her husband Luciano of Hereford, Texas; 3 grandchildren, Luciano Veliz, Erika Veliz and Jose Oscar Veliz; 5 sisters, Sylvia Mendoza and her husband Augustin Ordoñez of Mexico, Sabina Mendoza of Hereford, Texas, Alma Rosa Mendoza of Amarillo, Texas, Elisa Mendoza of Mexico, and Susana Mendoza of Mexico.

Alicia is preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Rafael, and Otilio Mendoza.

Alicia es precedida en la muerte por sus padres, 2 hermanos, Rafael y Otilio Mendoza.
