Alfred "Freddie" Escobal, Sr. 63, of Hereford, Texas passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021, in Amarillo, Texas.  Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, December 20, 2021, at 1:00 P.M. at San Jose Catholic Church with Father Ramon Molina officiating. Burial to follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery in Hereford. Arrangements and services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas.  Viewing will be on Sunday, December 19, 2021, from 1:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home with rosary beginning at 6:00 P.M.

Freddie Sr. was born on August 17, 1958, to Joe Jr. and Angela (Castañeda) Escobal. He has been a resident of Hereford for over fifty years. Freddie Sr. married Anita (Villegas) Escobal in 1975.  He owned Escobal Trucking and has worked most of his life as a truck driver. Freddie Sr. was a hard worker and enjoyed it. He like to play bingo, shoot pool, and show everyone how it was done. He also loved to play with his grandchildren.  Freddie Sr. was a jokester, always making people laugh; he loved life and loved his family.

Those left to cherish his memories are wife Anita Escobal of Hereford, Texas; sons, Freddie Escobal, Jr. and his wife Crystal of Hereford, Texas and Fernando Escobal and his wife Lore of Amarillo, Texas; grandchildren, Alexis Escobal and Isiah Escobal both of Hereford, Texas, Jacob Escobal, Jaylee Escobal, Noah Rodriguez, and Nathalia Rodriguez all of Amarillo, Texas; sisters, Hortensia Gamez of San Antonio, Texas, Eva Escobal of Amarillo, Texas, Adela Perez of Hereford, Texas, and Linda Valdez and her husband Mark of Amarillo, Texas; brothers Alex Escobal and his wife Carmen of Hereford, Texas, Oscar Escobal and his wife Jeannie of Hereford, Texas, Benny Escobal and his wife Teresa of Amarillo, Texas, and Johnny Escobal and his wife Mayra of Hereford, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents Joe Jr. and Angela Escobal and two brothers, Joe Escobal III and Ernest Escobal.
