Alex Taylor "Burns", 26 of Hereford, Texas, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2022, in Hondo, Texas. Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be on Friday, August 12, 2022, at Victory Family Worship Center at 3:30 PM with Pastor Lorenzo Martinez officiating. Arrangements and cremation services have been entrusted to Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford, Texas.

Alex was born June 22, 1996, in Dallas, Texas, to Tommy Burns, Jr. and Sabrina Riojas (Bishop). Alex was raised in Dallas, Texas, till the age of 8 years old, moving to Hereford, Texas, where he attended school. Alex received his bachelor's degree in business and was a certified welder. He was always the life of the party and unpredictable, he was very goal oriented, and if you were a part of his goal, you didn't have a chance. Alex had a plan "B" for his plan "B", he met and made friends very easily, and if you were his friend, he loved you beyond measure; he loved to sit on roof tops after a long night with his special friends and take adventures and road trips. He and his friends knew all the back roads of Hereford, Texas. Alex was the "Big Brother" to his siblings and was always their protector. His love for his family was unsurpassed; his mama was his best friend and Alex was her "Sunshine." He would want his family to know that he is now free, there are no good-bye's, its "just till next time".

Those left to cherish his memories are his parents, Sabrina Riojas and her husband Joe of Hereford, Texas, Tommy Burns, Jr. of Irving, Texas; his son Alex Martinez of Dallas, Texas; his siblings Tristin Riojas of Hereford, Texas, Zavier Riojas and his wife Caitlin of Amarillo, Texas, Robert Shane and his wife Paitlyn, and Alexis Riojas all of Hereford, Texas, Andrew Riojas of Amarillo, Texas, Joe Joe Riojas of Hereford, Texas and Trevor Mize of Canyon, Texas; a father like figure Ricardo Soria of Hereford, Texas; his paternal grandparents Kay Burns and Tommy Burns, Sr., both of Irving, Texas; his maternal grandparents Peggy Bishop and Tracey Rodgers both of The Colony, Texas, and Skip Gist of Dallas, Texas; his uncle Cory Moncus of Ft. Worth, Texas, and his aunt Misti Gauna and her husband Albert of Arlington, Texas.

Alex is preceded in death by both his paternal and maternal great grandparents.
