Albert Earl Edwards, 79, of Hereford passed away Friday, November 3, 2017 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be Wednesday at the Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM with Pastor Guy Walker officiating, burial to follow at West Park Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home of Hereford. Family and friend visitation will be Tuesday evening at the funeral home from 6:00-8:00PM.

Albert was born September 20, 1938 in Hereford, Texas to H.J. and Nina Fay (Harold) Edwards. Albert was a lifelong resident of Hereford. He joined the United States Navy at the age of seventeen and served four years. While in the service he married Bobbie Jean Payne. He came back to Hereford after serving in the United States Navy and he, his brother and father opened "Edwards House Moving Company" and he operated it for 40 years. His wife Bobbie Jean Edwards later passed away September 23, 1998. He then went to work for the City of Hereford and retiring years later. A few years later he met Zulema Moreno and they were married on December 19, 2000. Albert enjoyed fishing, camping, woodworking, vacationing and he loved working in his yard.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Zulema Edwards of Hereford, two daughters, Teresa Guy and her husband Todd of Lubbock and Lesia Wright and her husband Allen of Hereford and four stepson's, Jimmy Moreno of Hereford, Peter Allan Moreno and wife Angie of Dallas, Paul Andrew Moreno and wife Tammie of Oregon and Charles Garcia of Hereford; four grandchildren, Makenzie Scott and husband Sheyenne, Ashten Bryant and her husband Jerimy, Christopher Wright and his wife Jessica and Zane Wright and his wife Gabriella; fourteen step grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and several step great grandchildren; one brother, Norman Edwards and his wife Elaine of Houston and one sister, Margaret Byers of Ft. Worth.

Albert is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Bobbie Jean Edwards, his granddaughter, Jessica Wright and one sister.

The family suggest memorials be donated to the American Cancer Society, 3915 Bell Street, Amarillo, TX 79109
